Kansas City’s downtown iconic exposed neon sign was hit by a hail storm that created more than just broken neon. Infinity joined forces with Tension Envelopes to bring this icon back to life. See how we accomplished it.
the challenge
This sign has been around for awhile making the access to the letters/neon more difficult. Our first challenge was creating a new catwalk structure for the existing sign. As a rooftop sign, this also meant we had the challenge of lifting all components to the top of the building and assembling on site.
the process
This project started with a detailed site survey to review, analyze, and come up with a plan to make this sign look its best again. With the site visit complete we went to the drawing boards and constructed a great structure that will be around for a long time. Next we made new neon to replace the pieces broke in the storm.
the results
This sign is now back on the map of downtown shining bright for all to see and looks fantastic. Tension Envelopes is very happy with the results and we loved to be able to turn their sign back on.
